UEE20520 Certificate II in Computer Assembly and Repair

This qualification covers competencies to select components and assemble computer to customer specifications and carry out routine hardware repairs (generally by replacement) of known faulty components following prescribed routines.

Acquiring these skills will enhance students’ employment opportunities and pathways to further education.

On successful completion of this course students will achieve:

Certificates in IT at level II
Full Completion:          Full 12 units for a full Certificate

Career opportunities/vocational outcomes: Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include: 

• Helpdesk PC Support
• Level 1 IT technician
• Service Technician

Articulation: With UEE20520 – Certificate II in Computer Assembly and Repair qualification a student may qualify for an improved position in higher Information Technology courses such asCertificate III and IV in Computer Systems, Information Technology, Cyber Security and Integrated Technologies.

Further education: Certificate IV in Information Technology, Diploma in Information Technology

This course will be delivered over two years at Ringwood Training on Wednesdays.

1st Year – 12 – 3pm

2nd Year – 3 – 6pm

Post School

This program is delivered over a period of 6 months to 1 year depending on time commitment and effort .

Classes operate on the following days and times 45 weeks per year:

Monday  9:30am to 7pm 9.5 hrs
Tuesday  10am to 8:30pm 10.5 hrs
Wednesday  12 noon to 8:30 pm 8.5 hrs
Thursday  10am to 7 pm 9 hrs
Total 37.5 hrs

Students can attend any and every session and work according to other commitments such as employment or family arrangements.

There are no essential entry requirements for this course. However, learners are best equipped to achieve vocational outcomes of this course if they have a passion for Information Technology.
