Post school students are enrolled who have an interest in Information Technology, Networking, virtualisation and security. Most have skill sets at Certificate III or early Certificate IV and wish to attain formal qualifications and to follow a pathway to higher qualifications such as Certificate IV and Diploma in IT. Students are required to indicate the highest level qualification held prior to the commencement of the course in their enrolment.
The qualification is delivered with underpinning industry vendor qualifications training in one or more of IT Essentials, CCNA Routing and Switching, Microsoft MTA, MCSA and VMWare VCP.
On successful completion of this course students will qualify for ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking.
Career opportunities/vocational outcomes: Information Technology technician, netowrk operations support or general network support. Further studies in Network Security can also be options to follow.
Articulation: With ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology qualification a student may qualify for an improved position in higher Information Technology courses such as 22519VIC Certificate IV in Integrated Technologies, and at ICT50220 Diploma in Information Technology.

Post School
This program is delivered over a period of 9-12 months depending on time commitment and effort .
Classes operate on the following days and times 45 weeks per year:
Monday 9:30am to 7pm | 9.5 hrs |
Tuesday 10am to 8:30pm | 10.5 hrs |
Wednesday 12 noon to 8:30 pm | 8.5 hrs |
Thursday 10am to 7 pm | 9 hrs |
Total | 37.5 hrs |
Students can attend any and every session and work according to other commitments such as employment or family arrangements.
Entry requirements: There is no minimum formal educational requirements for this course. Industry or personal experience, interest and passion for using and working with computers and networks is desirable. Applicants must be 15 at January 1 of the year of the course.
This course is made up of 20 units; 7 core units plus 13 electives.
You can choose to either do Cisco or Non Cisco for this qualification.
