Post school students are enrolled who have an interest in Information Technology, Networking, virtualisation and data centre management. Most have skill sets at Certificate IV and wish to attain formal qualifications and to follow a pathway to higher qualifications such as Diploma of IT. Most students will attempt the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology concurrently with underpinning industry vendor qualifications in one or more of:
- Microsoft MCSA
- VMware VCP
- Cisco IT Essentials v7.02
- Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching v7.02
- Cisco CCNA Security v2.0
- Cisco Cybersecurity Operations v1.12
On successful completion of this course students will qualify for ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology
Career opportunities/vocational outcomes: Information Technology network engineer, network operations support, service technician and systems administrator.
Articulation:With ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology qualification a student may qualify for an improved position in higher Information Technology courses such as UEE60420 Advanced of Diploma of Computer Systems Engineering.

This program is delivered over a period of 1.5 – 2 years depending on time commitment and effort .
Classes operate on the following days and times 45 weeks per year:
Monday 9:30am to 7pm | 9.5 hrs |
Tuesday 10am to 8:30pm | 10.5 hrs |
Wednesday 12 noon to 8:30 pm | 8.5 hrs |
Thursday 10am to 7 pm | 9 hrs |
Total | 37.5 hrs |
Students can attend any and every session and work according to other commitments such as employment or family arrangements.
A recommendation to have completed MTA network fundamentals, IT Essentials, MCSA selected skills and knowledge, HyperV or VMware equivalent knowledge and skills. Completion of ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology is also recommended. Please note, these are recommendations and not mandatory.
