GENERAL FAQ’S

How do I get here?

RT (Ringwood Training) is located at 3 Hill St, Ringwood East, on the eastern side of Ringwood Secondary College.

RT is easily accessible by train and bus from either Ringwood or Ringwood East Station.

VET

How do we apply?

Students speak to their VET Coordinators and/or Career Counsellors at their home school and fill out an application form.
Applications are then sent to Ringwood Training from the school with School Coordinators approval.

Students will then be sent a letter of offer in mid October with enrolment paperwork to be returned to Ringwood Training direct not via their home school.

Students place will be confirmed once all completed enrolment paperwork including a valid USI is returned direct to Ringwood Training

What are the course costs and how do we pay?

Course cost:
Ringwood Training charge your home school the total course cost including materials and tuition fee.

Schools vary in what amount they charge the student, you will have to check with your home school about payment.
All payments are made direct to your home school.

Uniform Requirements – AUTO/ENG

Ringwood Training shirt will be provided from Ringwood Training

Automotive Workshop PPE

Safety Leather steel cap work boots must be worn at all times.

ClothingAutomotive

  • RT short/long sleeve cotton drill shirt provided
  • Steel capped boots
  • Cotton drill pants
  • Approved jumper*

RT Shirts for Automotive, Engineering & IT supplied by Ringwood Training, this is incorporated in students materials fee.

Eye Protection

  • Eye protection will be supplied by Ringwood Training and must be worn where required.

Students failing to meet these minimum standards of dress will not be permitted entry.

  • No Singlets
  • No T-shirts
  • No Ripped or Frayed clothing
  • No Hoodies
Automotive Induction 2022

What to do on the first day.

Induction day

It is vital that all students attend on the first day – February 2nd , 2022

Students cannot commence classes until they have been through the induction process.

Session times

Am classes 8:00 -12:30

Pm classes 1:00- 5:30

Where

All automotive students to enter the automotive workshop on Hill St. Staff will be on hand to guide them.

What to bring

Bring your work wear as described.

Please bring a pen

Engineering Workshop PPE

Safety Leather steel cap work boots must be worn at all times.

ClothingEngineering

Long sleeved industrial standard cotton RT Shirts must be worn to every class. RT shirts supplied by Ringwood Training, this is incorporated in students materials fee.

Eye Protection

  • Eye protection will be supplied by Ringwood Training and must be worn where required. Sun glasses not acceptable.

Welding PPE & Oxy goggles Units 3&4 – Supplied by RT

Students failing to meet these minimum standards of dress will not be permitted entry.

  • No singlets

Engineering Induction 2022

What to do on the first day.

Induction day

It is vital that all students attend on the first day – February 2nd, 2022

Students cannot commence classes until they have been through the induction process.

Session times

Units 1&2 classes 12.00 – 4.30pm

Units 3&4 classes 2.30-7.30pm

Where

All engineering students meet in front of Engineering workshop roller door. Staff will be on hand to guide them.

What to bring

Bring your work wear as described.

Please bring a pen and pencil

Information Technology/Cisco Induction

Uniform

RT Polo shirt supplied by Ringwood Training, this is incorporated in students materials fee.

IT Gaming Laptop Requirements

Laptop hardware requirements:

To attend classes all students are required to use their own personal laptops. These laptops need to be capable of running 3D design Software and virtualization software.

Hardware requirements needed in the Student’s personal device:

  • Minimum 8GB of Memory
  • Laptop preferred to be under 5 years old
  • Must have Office or equivalent program
  • Minimum 256GB of Storage
  • Preferably Windows based OS
  • Wi-Fi Capabilities
  • Must NOT have restrictive access from Schools Technical Team
