This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform and maintain the mechanical systems and components of light vehicles. It is suitable for entry into the automotive service and repair industry.
On successful completion of this course students will qualify for Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
Successful completion of this qualification may lead to post-trade qualifications in sales, supervisory roles, training or business ownership associated with the automotive industry. Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.

Apprenticeship is nominal 4 years with 3 years of trade training component.
SBAT is 2 years and you will obtain partial completion of AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
We offer day or block release, in consultation with the employer for full time apprentices. SBAT’s will attend either a Thursday or Friday.
Student will need to have the following for an Apprenticeship or SBAT:
- Employment under a Training Contract as an SBAT or Apprentice
- School enrolment in VCE or VCAL (SBAT only)
- Training Plan – Trade training at Ringwood Training as the Registered Training Organisation.
