ICT60215 Advanced Diploma of Network Security

Post school students are enrolled who have an interest in Information Technology, Networking, virtualisation and security. Most have skill sets at Certificate III or early Certificate IV and wish to attain formal qualifications and to follow a pathway to higher qualifications such as Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in IT. Most students will attempt the ICT60215 Advanced Diploma in Network Security with the ICT6015 Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems Technology with the (maximum of 2 qualifications per year) with underpinning industry vendor qualifications such as:

 CCNA Routing and Switching v6 or v7

  1. CCNA Security v2.0
  2. CCNA Cybersecurity Operations
  3. Microsoft MTA and MCSA
  4. VMware VCP

On successful completion of this course students will qualify for ICT60215 Advanced Diploma of Network Security

Career opportunities/vocational outcomes: Information Technology technician or entry level network engineer. Further studies in Network Security can also be options to follow.

 Articulation: With ICT60215 Advanced Diploma of Network Security qualification a student may qualify for an improved position in higher Information Technology courses such as a Degree-level Qualification

This program is delivered over a period of 45  weeks depending on time commitment and effort .

Classes operate on the following days and times 45 weeks per year:

Monday  9:30am to 7pm

Tuesday  10am to 8:30pm

Wednesday  12 noon to 8:30 pm

8.5 hrs

Thursday  10am to 7 pm

 Students can attend any and every session and work according to other commitments such as employment or family arrangements.

School leavers  aged 19 – 25 who want to gain employment in a technical role in a range of industry areas.  A required interest in Information Technology, networking and cybersecurity.

This course is made up of 12 units with a large elective range as outlined below. Electives will be chosen based on consultation with the learner upon development of the training plan.
