ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology – Gaming

This course aims to provide students with:

practical skills in the use of IT applications, hardware, software and computer networks
one or more national training qualifications
an opportunity to achieve the international computing qualification – Cisco IT Essentials

Acquiring these skills will enhance students’ employment opportunities and pathways to further education.
Students can also complete further nationally recognized qualifications such as the Diploma in IT Networking
and industry qualifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and CCNA Security.

On successful completion of this course students will achieve:

Certificates in IT at level III
Partial Completion: 10 out of 12 units for VET in Schools (VETis)
Full Completion: Full 12 units for a full Certificate

Students will be eligible to gain credit towards National Training qualifications such as those listed above. Results can be claimed towards a Tertiary Entrance Score if necessary where applicable; that is, when a second assessment option is selected.

TAFE, Higher Education and/or employment in the Computer Industry.

Students can progress into Certificate IV in IT Networking, Diploma in IT and/or the Cisco CCNA program or VMWare.

Possible employment as a Network Administrator or entry into further education including computer systems, engineering and telecommunications.

VETis

This course will be delivered over two years at Ringwood Training on Wednesdays.

1st year: 12-3pm

2nd year: 3-6pm

Post School

This program is delivered over a period of 28 to 45 weeks depending on time commitment and effort .

Classes operate on the following days and times 45 weeks per year:

Monday 9:30am to 7pm	9.5 hrs
Tuesday 10am to 8:30pm	10.5 hrs
Wednesday 12 noon to 8:30 pm	8.5 hrs
Thursday 10am to 7 pm	9 hrs
Total	37.5 hrs

Students can attend any and every session and work according to other commitments such as employment or family arrangements.

There are no essential requirements for this course. However, learners are best equipped to achieve vocational outcomes of this course if they have a passion for Information Technology multimedia and networking.
